Atma-Nirbhar Bharat - A Covid Relief Package in English


1.     PM Modi announced Special Economic package worth Rs 20 lakh crore for Atma-Nirbhar Bharat or self-reliant India to boost Economy during lockdown.

2.     Government reduced 25% cut in TDS (Tax Detected at Source) & TCS (Tax Collected at Source) till 31 March 2021.

3.     Following schemes were announced under Atma-Nirbhar Bharat

4.     Government redefined the definition of MSME

Ø Microenterprises with Investment up to 1 crore & Turnover up to 5 crore.

Ø Small Enterprises with Investment up to 10 crore & Turnover up to 50 crore.

Ø Medium Enterprises with Investment up to 20 crore & Turnover up to 100 crore.

5.     Under Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan Digital Education Initiative for Students called PM e-Vidya by which one TV channel each for class 1 to 12.


6.     Finance Ministry announced following Investments

7.     Rs 1500 crore, 2% subvention for MUDRA-Shishu Loan up to 50,000 for period of 12 months.

8.     Rs 90,000 Crore liquidity support for DISCOM.

9.     2 Lakh Crore concessional credit for Fisherman &Farmers through Kisan Credit Card Special drive.

10. Rs 30,000 Crore  as working capital for small & marginal farmers.

11. Rs 1 lakh Crore for Strengthening Infrastructure of Farmers.

12. Rs 10,000 Crore for promoting Micro Food Enterprises.

13. Raised the FDI limit under Automatic Route to 74% from 49% in Defence Production, Debt Related to COVID-19 get exempted upto 1 year.

14. Minimum Threshold to Initiate Insolvency Proceedings raised to 1 crore.

15. Rs 40,000 crore fund will be allocated for MNRGEA.

16. Rs 11,000 crore has been provided to State Disaster Relief Fund.

17. Government has raised state borrowing to 5% of GSDP (Gross State Domestic Product).

18. Rs.500 Crore has been allocated towards Beekeeping.

19. Government provide 30% VGF (Viability Gap Funding) for Social Infrastructure Projects to boost private sector investment.

20. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced Collateral free loans worth 3 lakh crore for MSME & 50,000 crore Equity Infusion through MSME Fund of Funds.
